BOOK NEWS: Learn to Speak Dance
Well, blog readers, it’s the last day of August. That means summer’s almost over, school’s about to start… and your September issue of OWL is either in the mail or in your hands as we speak! Right on!
Also, speaking of speaking, if you look in the calendar of your September issue, you’ll notice a shout-out for Learn to Speak Dance, a new book from Owlkids. It’s by dance instructor Ann-Marie Williams (and illustrated by Jeff Kulak) and it’s hitting bookstores later this month.

Cool! Those kids have skills! That song — “Art House Director” by Broken Social Scene — is really great, too.
I don’t know about you guys, but watching that video kind of makes me want to start or join a dance group — or at least just dance more often than I do now. Luckily, the book has info on how to do that, as well as all sorts of other things, like creating a dance move and syncing your moves to music.
Another fun fact: Learn to Speak Dance is actually the second book in a growing series. The first, which you might remember from a past post on the blog, was called Learn to Speak Music. It’s by John Crossingham, editor of Owlkids Books.
What do you think, bloggers? Will you check this book out? What would you like to see in the Learn to Speak series?
Talk to you soon!
