16-year-old Inventor, Ann Makosinski
Hi readers,
16-year-old Canadian scientist, Ann Makosinski has just won the Weston Youth Innovation Award for her invention, the Hollow Flashlight.
Ann created a high-tech thermoelectric flashlight which uses special tiles to capture body heat that then power an LED bulb.
She thought of her invention after seeing children living without electricity not being able to study or read at night. With an invention like this, these kids would have a light in the dark without using electricity or batteries!
This isn’t the first prize Ann has won for her incredible invention. Last year, Ann took home the top prize for her age group at the Google Science Fair.
Congratulations, Ann! I’m sure we will be seeing more of her amazing inventions in the future.
Do you have an idea for an invention? What would it be?
