In the March issue, we talk about art installations. It is an art style that creates spaces for you to experience art with all your senses — you can get up close, touch them, step on them, and play with them!
This March Break, if you are in the Toronto area, you can experience cool public installation art around Lake Ontario’s waterfront.
The WinterStations is an art competition where artists and designers from all around the world submit their designs for cool ways to transform lifeguard stations. Check out a few below! You can see the WinterStations by Woodbine Beach until April 1, 2018.
This wooden structure is called Rising Up by University of Guelph: Alexander Good, Austin Huang, Kevin Sadlemyer, Marc Cote, Stephan Stelliga, Zixiang Chen, Nadia Amoroso, John Phillips, Sean Kelly.
Another great event is the IceBreakers competition, which takes place around Toronto’s Harbourfront. Check out this fun art installation called Through the Eyes of a Bear by Tanya Goertzen. You can go right inside the bear!
