Cheesy Bites Recipe

Get cheesy with this yummy Cheesy Bites recipe! Check it out below.

You’ll need:

• 250 mL (1 cup) macaroni pasta
• 30 mL (2 tbsp.) butter
• 30 mL (2 tbsp.) flour
• 125 mL (1/2 cup) milk
• 375 mL (1 1/2 cups) shredded cheese
• hot dog pieces (optional)
• chives (optional)
• mini muffin tin

How to make:

1. Ask a grown up to help you cook and drain the macaroni.
2. Melt the butter on the stove. Stir in the flour.
3. Slowly stir in the milk. Simmer until it bubbles.
4. Add most of the cheese. Stir until melted.
5. Stir in the macaroni.
6. Cover the mixture and refrigerate it overnight.
7. Heat oven to 190 degrees celsius (375 F). Fill muffin cups with the Mac and Cheese mixture. Sprinkle on the rest of the cheese. Optional: Add cooked hot dogs and chives, too!
8. Bake for 15 minutes, or until cheese bubbles. Let cool before digging in. Yum!

Spooky Snack Recipe!

In the October issue of Chirp, we show you how to make a funny and spooky snack!

Read on below to learn how to make it:

*Always ask an adult for help in the kitchen.

You’ll need:

• Your favourite cookie recipe
• Chocolate cups
• Tube of icing
• Candy eyes

What to do:

1. Bake your favourite cookie recipe.
2. Remove the cookies from the oven. Place the chocolate cups on them. Let them cool.
3. Use the icing to make spider legs and stick on candy eyes.

Summer Paper Craft

Turn old scrap paper in your home into a colourful piece of art!

You’ll need:

• Paper (construction paper or recycled)
• Scissors
• Markers
• Glue

What to do:

1. Find a large piece of paper for your background.
2. Cut out smaller pieces of paper. Glue them onto your background to create your favourite insect.
3. Add details to your artwork using markers.
4. Show your masterpiece to your family and friends!
