Book Review: A Walk on the Shoreline
Hi, readers.
I just finished a new book called A Walk on the Shoreline by Rebecca Hainnu and illustrated by Qin Leng.
Nukappia lives in Ottawa with his adoptive parents during most of the year, but his biological family lives in the Arctic. Every summer he goes to stay with them at their campsite by the water and they teach him about life up north. This year, he learns about the feast his Grandma makes with food found or caught on the shoreline.
This book is a great way to learn about Inuit traditions. It also has a glossary of Inuit words for plants and animals.
What’s your favourite thing to do with family? Let us know in the comments.
Bye for now!
