If you’re looking for something fun to do this March Break, try some of these fun activities:
Make friendship bracelets. All you need is a bit of thread and concentration—and you can always ask an adult for a helping hand. Check out this cool video for an easy tutorial.
Whip up a yummy recipe. Be it or hot chocolate or pancakes, the sky is the limit! Be sure to ask a parent for help.
Try a tricky tongue twister. Here are a few funny twisters to get started or get creative and make your own!
Go sledding. Grab your crazy carpets and head to the snow hill!
Host a movie night with your pals. Get in your comfy clothes and enjoy some popcorn!

March break is right around the corner. Are you looking for fun activities to try while you’re on school break? Check out the ones below!
Make alien cupcakes. Use green icing to make a martian face on your cupcakes. Then give each one eyes, ears, a mouth and hair using dried fruit!
Create a robot costume. Ask an adult to help you cut a hole in the bottom of a box for your head and a hole on each side for your arms. Decorate your box to look like a robot from the future!
Make barnyard cutouts! Cut out the animals found here. Clip on small clothespins to give them legs.
Have group pillow fight. Invite family members to choose their pillow, then get going!
Make a friendship necklace. Paint to old puzzle pieces that fit together in bright colours. Once they’re dry, use a hole punch to make a hole at the top of each one. Then string a piece of yarn through each hole. Keep one necklace for yourself and give one to a special friend!
If you try any of the activities, send a picture of yourself in action to chirpblog@owlkids.com. You may just see yourself on the Chirp blog!
If you’re in the Toronto-area during March Break, I highly recommend the TIFF digiPlaySpace at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. This is the fifth year of the amazing exhibition and it is better than ever. Check out some of the highlights from my visit!
Here I am using Keylight!, a green-screen space that transports you almost anywhere. Here I am “wearing” Big Ben, the famous clock tower in London.
Next, I got to design my own pinball machine game using special paper called Flippaper. It’s a hybrid cat-owl! I was so excited when someone played my game.
Here’s a gallery of Flippaper pinball machine designs! Be sure to add yours to the wall, too.
This is the Augmented Reality Sandbox. I was able to sculpt my own landscape using really cool kinetic sand!
Another highlight at the digiPlaySpace was the Thymio Robot Playground where you can program simple robots yourself.
Don’t forget to visit the Sago Mini area, too. You can build your own mini cardboard house with the Build-A-House Activity and try out their latest app, Trucks and Diggers.
The TIFF digiPlaySpace runs from now on until April 24, 2016. During this week, you can catch Treasures from Dreamworks Animation. You can check out the schedule here.
