How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World hit theatres this weekend! The film follows young Viking Hiccup and his best friend and dragon partner, Toothless, on another adventure.
Their home on the island of Berk is no longer safe, thanks to ruthless dragon hunters who are after Toothless and his fellow dragons. Hiccup and Toothless venture to find The Hidden World, the place where dragons come from—and can hopefully return to safely.
With its beautiful animation and moving plot, this Dreamworks’s movie is definitely worth the watch.

I just saw a great movie called The Book of Life. Manolo loves Maria, but so does Joaquin. When the two men compete for Maria’s attention, there’s more at stake than just her heart. La Muerte, the ruler of the World of the Remembered placed a bet with Xibalba, the ruler of the World of the Forgotten. The winner of the bet gets to live in the World of the Remembered where the colours are brighter, the people are loved and fun never ends. The loser is banished to the World of the Forgotten, which is the worst place to be.

This movie is a lot of fun. It has great animation that brings all the worlds to life and catchy music that you may even recognize.

The classic book, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is busting onto the big screen! From the moment he wakes up, things aren’t going Alexander’s way. Unlike his overly-optimistic father, Ben Cooper (played by Steve Carell), Alexander refuses to stay positive. How could he? His baby brother gets all the attention, he set his science lab on fire, and most importantly, the popular kid’s birthday party is on the same day as Alexander’s!
But all of Alexander’s luck is about to change… and so is his family’s. Enter the midnight birthday wish. Things take a turn when Alexander wishes his family could see what its like to have a no good, very bad day. Will the birthday boy regret his actions once his family’s luck starts running out? You’ll have to check out this flick to find out!

This movie had me giggling all the way through! I also thought there was a great message in the end, but you’ll have to watch the movie to find out what it is! If you end up seeing it, come back and let us know what message you took away from the film.
It’s been six months since we got our first sneak peek at The LEGO Movie. Let me say, it was worth the wait!
Emmet is just another face in the crowd until he gets mistaken for being The Special: the one to save the world from President Business a.k.a. the evil Lord Business. But maybe Emmet isn’t The Special… or is he?
This movie is filled with jokes and adventure. What more could you want, really? How about some super famous actors, like Morgan Freeman, to voice hilarious characters. The animation was really great, too! Everything (and I mean, everything) was made of Lego, including the water and clouds.
Check out the trailer below.
This movie is one of the funniest I’ve seen in a while! And now I want to start building my own Lego world.
The LEGO Movie is in theatres today. Check it out and come back to tell us what you think.

Hey blog readers, do you know what animal shares 98% of our genetic material? Hint: it’s the title of Disneynature’s newest documentary (and the title of this blog post). That’s right — chimpanzees are our closest living relatives. And while I was watching this new movie, I could totally spot the similarities between us.
Chimpanzee introduces us to Oscar, a young chimp living in the African rainforest with his family. Life is good for Oscar. He sleeps, eats, and plays all day (sounds pretty nice, doesn’t it?). But Oscar’s life is changed forever when a rival band of chimps puts his family in peril. And after losing his mother, Oscar is forced to fend for himself… until a very surprising friend steps in.
Here are a few observations about the movie:
1.It’s playful. Young chimps are incredibly playful animals. I mean, those little guys really know how to have fun! I loved watching them be silly and swing through the trees. And I think actor Tim Allen (you probably know him as the voice of Buzz Lightyear) also had fun narrating the film.
2. It’s educational. I learned a ton watching this movie. Did you know that chimps use tools? For instance, they use rocks and wooden logs to crack open tasty coula nuts to eat. And that’s just one of the many handy skills they pass down through the generations! I have to say, this movie really opened my eyes to the incredible world of chimpanzees.
3.It’s heartwarming. There are definitely some sad moments in this movie, but overall, it was a sweet, touching story. As hard as it was to watch Oscar lose his mother, it was amazing to watch him form a bond with his new friend. And I bet you’ll agree with me, if you see it for yourself!
Overall, I liked this movie a lot. It was really cool to get up-close and personal with Oscar and his chimpanzee family. Plus, Disneynature will make a donation for every ticket sold during opening week to the Jane Goodall Institute, an organization that works to protect chimpanzees and their habitats. And what’s not to like about that?
But just a warning: there are some intense scenes, especially when enemy chimps confront Oscar’s family. So, if that’s not your thing, you may not want to see this in the theatre.
