This week’s Reader Art of the Week comes from Daniel, age 10.
The vibrant-blue colour that Daniel used really caught our intention. It looks like Daniel is a fan of Kirby video games and he was inspired to draw this!
Great job, Daniel.
What inspires you? Send in your art for a chance to be featured on the blog, too.
I’m thrilled to introduce you to Particle Man. This submission was sent in by Lochlan, 14.
Artist: Lochlan, 14
I just love the imagination that went into this art. I can see that a lot of effort went into Particle Man, and he looks like he has unbelievable powers. Although, the robot looks like he could be a tough match. I wish there was a story that accompanied this one, but for now, I’ll just have to use my imagination. Lochlan, great job!
We’ve almost reached the 100th Reader’s Art! Make sure you keep sending yours in so we can reach this milestone.
Thanks to Gina for sending in her painting for Reader Art of the Week. We asked Gina some questions about her art.
OWL: What was your inspiration?
Gina: I really like painting but I never tried painting wildlife, so I chose to paint an owl which was partly inspired by my friend who loves owls. It was also inspired by my grandma because she loves owls, too.
OWL: What kind of tools did you use?
Gina: All I used to make this was a few different-sized paintbrushes and acrylic paint.
OWL: Do you have a special place where you paint?
Gina: I have a place with craft supplies and paint, but when I’m painting, I paint almost anywhere.
OWL: Do you have a favourite artist?
Gina: I really like Claude Monet, but I like most artists. I also like Marie Cassatt, Andy Warhol, Francisco Goya, and Leonardo Da Vinci.
The OWL team loves your painting, Gina! Thanks for sharing.
Happy Friday to all of you! It’s time for another round of Reader Art of the Week. For this edition, I thought I would post a drawing that’s bright and sunny, just like the day we’re having here in Toronto!
Doesn’t it make you want to get outside? Thanks to chickaDEE reader Isabella for sending in her masterpiece.
Remember, you can always share your drawings with the chickaDEE team by sending them to chickadeeblog@owlkids.com.
