Reverse Mailbag #24 Roundup

Time for the roundup of Mailbag #24 answers!

Kendra and I were very impressed with everything you had to say. So let’s discuss.

1. What’s your favourite holiday movie of all time?
Kim: My favourite is Elf. It doesn’t matter how many times I watch it, it still makes me laugh every time.
Kendra: A Charlie Brown Christmas. I love those guys!
Reader Roundup: We had a lot of movies mentioned here. Alex agrees with Kendra’s movie choice. Both Cassandra and Eliza chose Arthur Christmas (Eliza, we hope you get to watch it this season!). Hannah chose A Christmas Carol and Jade picked Hunger Games as her favourite holiday movie!

2. Would you rather eat only candy canes OR fruit cake for one week?
Kim: I would definitely choose fruit cake. I’m not a big candy cane fan, except when it’s mixed with dark chocolate.
Kendra: Fruit cake. I just don’t think I could make it through an entire week with candy cane stuck in my teeth.
Reader Roundup: Everyone except Eliza and Hannah said candy canes! By the way, has anyone tried candy cane ice-cream? I saw it in the store the other day but have never tried it.

3. Pretend you’re participating in a gift exchange with your favourite celebrity. Who would it be and what would you give them?
Kim: I would give Louis Tomlinson a new stuffed bird so he would have a friend for Kevin (anyone who knows Louis will know about his bird Kevin!).
Kendra: They’re not my all-time favourite, but I’m going to pick Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie for this one. I would give them Chirp, chickaDEE & OWL subscriptions for all of their kids.
Reader Roundup: There were lots of amazing answers to this question. Hannah would give author Markus Zusak a book (I wonder what kind of book?), Cassandra would keep Taylor swift rockin’ with a new guitar, and Eliza would give 1D a pillowcase with their pictures on it (awwww, so thoughtful!). Continuing the One Direction streak, Alex would give Zayn a homemade card, and Jade is more of a Belieber and would give Justin a homemade Christmas card, too!

4. What’s the best thing about the winter holidays?
Kim: Playing board games with family while it’s snowing outside.
Kendra: Going to the theatre with my friends and family to see the holiday blockbusters.
Reader Roundup: There’s so much about the holidays that Cassandra likes. From snowboarding to no school, she’s pumped up about it all! Sounds like Hannah will be celebrating her birthday over the holidays (Happy Birthday, Hannah!), Alex is a fan of snow and skiing, Jade likes tobogganing, and Eliza loves Christmas!

5. If you could give this cute polar bear cub a name, would what it be?
Kim: Eugene.
Kendra: He looks like a Peter to me!
Reader Roundup: Here are some of the names you suggested: Nanuq, Food, Gabby, Henry, and Snowflake!
