2019 Science Odyssey Contest Winners!

Hey readers,

We love partnering with Science Odyssey because it’s Canada’s biggest celebration of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)! From May 4-19, tons of fun science activities took place across the country, including our 2019 Science Odyssey Contest. We asked families to do three scientific activities together, whether it was planting flowers in a garden, drawing a space ship, or visiting a science centre, for a chance to win some cool prizes.

We had another great turnout for this year’s 2019 Science Odyssey Contest. Congrats to all our lucky winners below!

Our grand-prize winner is Connor Stephens who sent in this awesome video. He made a snap circuits fan, paper airplanes, and defied gravity in an indoor skydiving simulator. Check it out!

Happy International Girls In ICT Day!

Today is International Girls in ICT Day! ICT stands for Information and Communications Technology. It’s a field that is all about computers, phones, apps, programming and more! International Girls in ICT Day encourages girls to learn more about technology and get involved in it.

There are many events around the world celebrating International Girls in ICT Day that include competitions, career fairs, workshops and activities. You can celebrate by attending one of these events or choosing to learn more about science, math, and computer technology!

Canada-Wide Science Fair: 2016 Edition

In our May issue we introduced you to Marcus Deans, one of the winners of last year’s Canada-Wide Science Fair. Say hi, Marcus!

Now 2016’s CWSF is revving up at McGill University in Montreal. Hard-working students from across the country are coming together to present their projects to family, friends, visitors, and judges. Some examples from this year:
