Look up in the sky. It’s a bird. It’s a plane. No, it’s Superman!
I think we can all recognize the hero in the blue and red tights, but in Man of Steel, this is a side of Superman you’ve never seen before.
If you haven’t read the comics or seen the previous movie versions, Man of Steel is a great introduction to the character and his story. You get to learn all about his home planet of Krypton and watch him learn to harness his powers to help save the people he cares about — not to mention everyone else in the world. And more than that, it is an action-packed flick with great special effects.
Here are a few things I noticed about the movie:
1. The super suit. In previous Superman movies, it kind of looked like Superman was wearing his underwear outside his clothes — not very hero-like. But this new version of his suit looked awesome! Fun fact: the flowing red cape was mostly made with special effects.
2. Loads of action. If you like trains being thrown, the sound of glass shattering, buildings exploding, and battles between two invincible enemies, then you are going to love this movie. It is two hours of SMASH, BANG, CRASH! Just when you think it’s over… IT ISN’T!
3. Super dads. I think Father’s Day is the perfect weekend for this movie to be released. Superman couldn’t have been so super without his dads! His Krypton dad sent Kal-El to Earth as a baby for a better life. And his Earth dad raised him as Clark Kent to be a good person. Both dads wanted him to be happy and to help others. Now if that isn’t a hero, I don’t know what is.
If you think you can handle the action, make sure to check out this fun summer flick.
