Happy Birthday Queen Victoria!
Thanks to Queen Victoria, we have a long weekend coming up!
Since Canada is still a member of the Commonwealth Nations, Victoria Day celebrates the Queen’s Birthday. Although her birthday is on May 24, this year the holiday falls on Monday, May 21.
I’ve asked the OWL team how they’re going to celebrate the long weekend, and they had some great answers.
Kendra, OWL Assistant Editor, is going to enjoy delicious eats on a road trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Kendra deserves a taste of the good life!
Caroline, Designer, will be going for a bike ride around Toronto. That could be a long bike ride!
Jackie, Contributing Editor, is going to have a BBQ, enjoy some fun in the sun, and take her dog to the park. Lucky pup!
Mandy, Contributing Editor, is going to her first BBQ of the season. What a grillin’ good time!
Melissa, Contributing Editor, will be basking in the sun, eating anything barbecued, and enjoying time with friends and family. Sounds like a sun-filled weekend!
Natalia, Contributing Editor, is going bird watching at Rouge National Park, canoeing in the lake, and playing soccer in the backyard. It’s going to be a birds eye view for Natalia!
Tracey, Photo Researcher, is planning to take her dog Maggie to the beach, BBQ, and then go to the Fireworks at Ashbridges Bay. She’ll be ending her weekend with a bang!
Angela, Associate Publisher, is going to visit family in Montreal, and she hopes to eat some poutine. Yum!
As for me, I’m going for a hike at a nearby conservation area with my friend Mike who I like to call “Outdoors Mike.” He loves photographing birds, wildlife, and nature, so that will be lots of fun!
