Today is Kids’ Yoga Day! Yoga is a type of exercise and meditation that originally came from Hindu teachings.
You can practise yoga for 5 minutes a day to feel more relaxed and physically fit. Best of all, yoga poses are really fun! Here’s how to do the a tree pose:
- Stand tall and place one foot on the other leg on your upper thigh or calf (but avoid the knee).
- Place your hands together in front of your chest. Hold this pose for five to eight breaths.
- Slowly raise your arms up and overhead. Take three deep breaths.
- Lower your hands to your chest and lower your foot to the ground. Now repeat the pose with your other foot.
