Look for our interview with voice actor Lilly Bartlam in the March 2020 issue of OWL magazine!
You can also catch Lilly voicing “Girl” in The Most Magnificent Thing airing on YTV October 11 at 6:00 p.m. Check out the video below for more information!
Are you ready for the season premiere of Zoink’d on YTV tonight at 6pm ET/PT? We got to ask the judges, Brielle, Daniel, Aleksa, and Ismael some questions, and it sounds like we’re all in for some pretty funny stuff!
OWL: What makes you laugh?
Daniel: A good ‘Zoinking’! Aleksa: Funny faces, silly sounds, and crazy antics. Slapstick!
OWL: What’s the weirdest, wackiest, or best talent you’ve ever seen on the show?
Daniel: A torch juggler! He was so fast, I couldn’t tell where his hands were! Aleksa: A guy on a unicycle, blind-folded, and juggling swords. Fantastic! Ismael: It’s between the strong men who crushed frying pans and grills or a man in a huge bubble clown costume who did acrobatic moves.
OWL: What do you like best about being on the show?
Brielle: Being in charge as kids. All of the kids, even the ones in the audience, get to pick the winner at the end of the show, and that is really fun. Aleksa: Seeing all the crazy things adults will do for a little bit of fun!
OWL: What’s your favourite funny movie of all time?
Brielle: The Lorax. Every time the fish sing, I die laughing. Daniel: I really like Johnny English. Ismael: Mr Bean’s Holiday.
OWL: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Brielle: An actress and a singer. Aleksa: A botanist or a historian. Or I could just play them on TV!
Thanks to Brielle, Daniel, Aleksa, and Ismael for answering our questions!

This past weekend, Splatalot kicked off its second season with YTV’s Celebrity Splatdown!
OWL reader Ryan B. had the chance to visit the Splatalot set to get a behind-the-scenes look at the show. He also got to interview the show’s Defenders. Check it out:
Here’s what Ryan thought of the experience:
“This summer, I saw the show Splatalot in action. When I arrived, I met a few behind-the-scenes people and got the grand tour of the entire set from the executive producer himself. I found out that for season two of Splatalot, the game is much bigger, trickier, and more painful than the last season. For example, in round one, the players literally get catapulted into the game. I didn’t see that, unfortunately, but I did see round two for three episodes. Later that morning, I had the chance to interview three Defenders of the castle (and next to the crown, too). I interviewed Thorne, Kookaburra, and a new Defender this season, Vain. It was lots of fun! I couldn’t have imagined what fun I would have. I hope that you enjoy watching season two of Splatalot!”
Thanks for doing such a great job, Ryan B.!
You can tune into Splatalot every Saturday at 6:30pm EST on YTV.
A few weeks ago, we got a visit from the season five winner of YTV’s The Next Star, Brooklyn Roebuck!
Photo: Tracey Jacklin
After weeks of competition and musical challenges, and over three million votes cast across Canada, 14-year-old Brooklyn from Chatham, Ontario, was crowned The Next Star during the show’s live finale at Canada’s Wonderland. Part of her prize includes a two-song recording contract with Sony Music Entertainment Canada, so keep your ears out!
In the meantime, check out my interview with the talented country singer.
