The 2014 World Cup Is Almost Here!

Tomorrow, the opening ceremony for the 2014 FIFA World Cup will take place in Brazil. If you like soccer, you’ll probably want to tune in!

To celebrate, here are some soccer words and their meanings. Impress your friends and family by using some of them during the game!
Half volley: When a player takes a shot on net just as the ball bounces off the ground.
Header: When a player uses their head to pass or control the ball, or to take a shot on net.
Dribble: When a player controls the ball with their feet while moving on the field of play.
Dummy: When a player pretends that they’re about to take control of the ball, but then lets it travel to the feet of a teammate instead.
Bicycle kick: When a player has their back to the net and shoots the ball by kicking it with both feet in the air.
