Hi, readers!
The January/February issue of Chirp is full of TRAINS. This month’s Look & Learn section is all about how high-speed trains work.

Hello Jackie and Chirp Magazine:
My son and I have been reading Chirp for almost 3 years now, and I was shocked at the Jan/Feb 2015 cover. Where is the Chirp we know and love?? My son noticed right away and told me to look at it–he said maybe his face looks different because it’s a new year. Squawk and Tweet are different too. I hate to sound like a pain, but I liked the old cartoon better, and he had a personality–you can’t just switch that kind of thing up! Hate to bring up a gripe because I really do love your magazine and we enjoy reading it together over and over each time it comes. I love that it’s a purely fun magazine with no gimmicks or marketing–children are too often the targets of unsolicited marketing. Thanks!
Thank you for your comment, Mary. We are happy to hear that you and your family enjoy Chirp Magazine! And yes, the Chirp characters do look a bit different in the Jan/Feb issue. They are now drawn by Cale Atkinson, a wonderful and talented Canadian illustrator. As your son suspected, we did think that the beginning of the new year would be a great time for a refresh. Chirp and his pals have a new look but they are still the same loveable characters on the inside! We hope that you grow to love the updated version as much as you did the other. Feedback is always appreciated so please do let us know what you think of the next few issues. You can leave comments here or email me at jackie.farquhar@owlkids.com
